Shehr-e-Kitab is the city of books in Islamabad that accommodate 28 bookshops from where you can buy different types of books. They recently opened Kitab Cafe on 10th March, 2018 in F-7 Markaz, Islamabad. Kitab cafe deals in all kinds of books including novels, educational books, autobiographies and much more. In recent years technological trends have taken over almost all the aspects of life. Most of the people are moving away from the books because of the technology.

Promoting book reading habits in people is not an easy task especially when it comes to the young generation. Shehr-e-Kitab also trying to promote book reading habits. So they have initiated a step by opening an outdoor café where people can sit together and read books. It will also serve as a platform to share your ideas about the books, recommend books to others, making a habit of book reading and ultimately increasing your reading skills, your knowledge about different aspects of life and enhance your analyzing skills.

Many other cafes promoting book reading habit through this technique in Islamabad but what really makes Kitab café different is its large collection of books available at their store. People tend to be attracted toward more collection in order to have a better chance in finding what they are looking for.

During inauguration ceremony Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage, Ifran Siddiqui said that:

“Government is taking several steps in order to promote the culture of book reading. However parents should also play an important role in building a relationship of their children with the books”

According to the Chairman of National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema

“the connection and contribution of youth with the books is vital in order to maintain balance in society.”
