Yasir Shah’s record breaking performance helped Pakistan to a T20 series leveling innings victory over New Zealand in Dubai. A leg break, spinner, googly bowler Yasir Shah recently create the world record.
Yasir Shah’s record is equivalent to the record of Current Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan who achieved his feat in 1982 against Sri Lanka in Lahore. Yasir Shah wrote his name with the golden alphabets in the history of Pakistan records book through taking the 14 wickets in match play against New Zealand in Dubai.
32 year old Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah followed his astonishing performance in a match haul of 14\184.
In his first inning against New Zealand he took 8\41 on Monday and in the second inning he had figured 6\143. The third and final Test against New Zealand is in Abu Dhabi on the next week. He has taken 22 wickets in the series and required five more to reach 200 in his career.
Yasir Shah said that: “I came to know yesterday about Imran Khan’s record, so it’s an honor that my name will come with him”.
“I haven’t bowled as like as this, exclusively with the pitch proposing turn and bounce as it did. We wanted to put the disillusionment of the first Test behindhand us and set up the series.”
“Sometimes you feel the pressure here (in the UAE) for the reason that spinners get more wickets. So everyone expects you to take wickets. So you need to work hard even harder.”
Against the Australian T20 series last month, Yasir Shah has taken eight wickets at 27 in the two test series and this T20 series he has being a sidelined by a hip injury. “I came back from injury and did not get the needed rhythm against Australia,” he said.
